Former Liberty County High School and University of Miami basketball player Rion Brown scored 16 points Thursday, helping the Charlotte Hornets win their second straight Samsung NBA Summer League game in Las Vegas.
The Hornets beat the New Orleans Pelicans, 104-75, on Thursday night at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
The 23rd-seeded Hornets will take on the winner of the New York Knicks/D-League Selects game in the quarterfinals of the 2014 Samsung Summer League Tournament.

The Long County wrestling team celebrates its region championship at Calvary Day School.
The Long County Blue Tide wrestling team made history this past weekend when both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state championship duals meet. The girls won the Division 2 Area 1 championship on Friday, January 10 and the boys won the Region 3-AAA championship on Saturday, January 11.
