Liberty County’s Elijah Brown was named the Region 3-AAA boys basketball player of the year in voting by region coaches.

Also earning first-team recognition was senior Keanu Maynard. Aaron Brown was named to the second team. Chris Miller and Zakk Mock earned honorable mention.

Simon Heyward of Beach and Long County’s Ricky Rivera were named co-coaches of the year. Calvary Day’s Demetrius Brown and Long County’s Jy’Son Mallard were named co-offensive players of the year for the region. Chol Kiir of Calvary was named region defensive player of the year.

For the Lady Panthers, Maritza Troche, Bella Moore and Neveah Saddler were named to the all-region first team. Jada Morant was chosen for the all-region second team. Malajah Roberts was named honorable mention.

Jenkins’ Brianna Booker was named the region girls coach of the year and Beach’s Mariah Reid was named player of the year. Aniyah Wright from Groves was selected as the offensive player of the year, and I’Yarna Lee of Jenkins was chosen as the defensive player of the year.
