Bulldogs sweep Panthers in doubleheader

Taking a 3-1 win in game one and winning 6-2 in game two, the Thomson Bulldogs swept the Liberty County Panthers in a double-header Thursday afternoon.

In the first game Panther Colby Rhea pitched six inning, taking the loss. He threw seven strikeouts. Aric Albertson pitched the final inning.
The Panthers’ one run came on an RBI single by Jacari Roberts, scoring Dylan Stewart in the bottom of the sixth. Roberts finished the game 1 for 2 with the RBI. Dylan Gamble was also 1 for 2 and Rheas was 1 for 3.

Thomson scored a run in the first inning off a hit by Duncan Adams. The Bulldogs added a run in the third off a sacrifice fly, and a run in the fourth for the win. Bulldog Morgan Hyde pitched the win, striking out five Panthers.

In game two, Albertson started on the mound, but handed the ball over to Roberts after giving up one hit. Roberts pitched the rest of the game, striking out six, giving up 11 hits and six runs. Rhea was 2 for 3 and Jacob Albertson was 1 for 2.

Bulldog Cody Brown took the win, throwing 13 strikeouts.
The Panthers are 4-8 overall and 0-4 in Region 3-AAAA. They play next Friday at Windsor Forest in a region double-header, starting at 4 p.m.
