Canes smash Pitbulls 20-8

With just a few more regular-season games left on the schedule, the Hinesville Hurricanes semi-professional football team is poised to qualify for the championship game, which will be played at the Liberty County Recreation Department.

The ’Canes improved to 5-1 overall after taking a 20-8 win Saturday against the Middle Georgia Pitbulls in Dublin. It was the second time the Hinesville men have taken a bite out of the Pitbulls. The ’Canes won 27-6 on July 10 at home.

The team will host the Upstate Vikings this Saturday at Long Bell Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and children 12 and younger are free. Raffle tickets will be sold. Winners will be announced and prizes given at halftime. Winners must present their tickets to claim prizes.
