Chapman places 3rd at nationals

Former Bradwell Institute and current senior University of Georgia Lady Bulldog heptathlete Quintunya Chapman placed third in the NCAA National Championship Tournament held June
10 through Saturday in Eugene, Oregon.
According to stats posted on georgiadogs.com, Chapman scored 6,147 points in the event, just behind Bulldog teammate and best friend Kendall Williams, who had 6,223 points. Akela Jones of Kansas State won the event with 6,371 points, according to wibw.com.
Chapman finished the 100-meter hurdles in
13.43 seconds. Her high jump was 5 feet, 5 1/4 inches and her shot-put toss reached
47-9 1/4. She ran the 200 dash in 23.62 and reached 19-
11 in the long jump. She tossed the javelin 143-3 and ran the
800 run in 2:19.96.
The Lady Bulldogs, as a team, earned their second-straight fifth-place finish for the outdoor championships.
