Cherokee Rose Country Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary this past weekend with a two-day 2-person scramble which attracted over 60 golfers.
The team of Mark Hewitt and Zack Dasher captured the event in the First Flight after outpacing the other teams for the two days.
The team of Jack Shuman and Dwayne Rye won Second Flight with the team of Lori Kirk and Kort Kennedy won Third Flight and the team of Bobby Anderson and Gregg Hewitt captured Fourth Flight.
The tournament featured 36-holes of play, food and drinks both days and the club’s first Calcutta which brought fierce bidding from the teams.
The club is making plans to make this tournament a mainstay at the club and will continue to grow and become bigger and bigger.
The Wednesday Jake Blitz saw Ronnie Brown capture medalist honors with a 1-under 70 with Art Mathabel grabbing points with +9 for the day.
The Cherokee Rose Country Club Jake Blitz is held every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Sign up times end at 8:30 am on Wednesday and Saturday with start time at 9:00 am. Sign up time ends at 12:30 pm on Sunday with start at 1 pm. Golfers are paired into groups and are on a points system. Course members and the public are invited to play.
