Liberty County High School’s Lady Panther softball team is currently 4-2 overall for the season.
Their most recent win was this past Thursday when they played host to McIntosh County Academy and won 11-3.
Junior Alexi Barnes was 3-of-4 with 3 RBIS in the win. The Lady Panthers mustered up 9 hits for 10 RBIs.
Freshman pitcher Kimberly Colon pitched the win tossing 6 strikeouts.
The Liberty girls started their season with a 7-6 loss against their cross-town rivals, Bradwell Institute on Aug. 7.
On Aug. 10, the girls bounced back taking an 11-5 win while hosting Bryan County. The following day the Lady Panthers had a double-header where they lost 13-5 to Vidalia. But the Panthers followed that performance with a 10-3 win over Jenkins High. This past Tuesday the Lady Panthers played at Portal and won 11-6.
Barnes leads the Lady panthers with 11 hits and 9 RBIs to date. Ryann Alexander has 10 hits and 8 RBIs, De’Anna Gumataotao has 7 hits and 5 RBIs.
Colon has pitched a total of 31.2 innings with 23 strikeouts.
The Lady Panthers host Appling County at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
