The Liberty County Panthers baseball team snapped a short slide with a new winning streak.
The Panthers downed the Bulloch Academy Gators 6-2 Tuesday night in Statesboro for their third straight win, raising their record to 7-2.
Liberty trailed 2-0 after five innings but scored three runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh.
That win followed a 10-0 rout of McIntosh County Academy and a 15-1 shellacking of Portal.
Against the Gators, Shedrick Pass doubled and drove in two runs and Caden Chancey collected two RBIs. Pass also worked two scoreless innings on the mound, striking out four, while Jaden Herrington fanned six over five innings.
Chancey was 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the win over MCA, and Pass and Trevor Lites drove in two runs each. Hunter Lites struck out nine and gave up just three hits over six innings.
Glemon English was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs against Portal, and Herrington went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Wyatt Huston went 2-for-3 and Mikey Miller added a double. Chancey struck out seven and allowed just one hit and one walk in five innings.
Pass went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs and Chancey was 2-for-3 in a 16-5 loss to Brunswick.
The Panthers host Bryan County today at 5:30 p.m. and visit Islands on Tuesday.
