NEW ORLEANS — Georgia Southern has been picked to win the Sun Belt in the 2015 preseason coaches poll, according to gseagles.com.
The Eagles had 110 points and six first-place votes, followed by Louisiana-Lafayette with 108 points and three first-place tallies. Arkansas State was picked third, followed by Appalachian State and Texas State. Sixth-place South Alabama garnered the final first-place vote.
The conference will announce its preseason All-Sun Belt teams Monday.
Georgia Southern won the 2014 Sun Belt title in its first season in the league, finishing 8-0 in the conference and 9-3 overall. The Eagles return 13 starters and 58 lettermen to the 2015 squad.
