Richard Lovelady is leading the Ocean State Waves in wins so far this season. Lovelady, the former First Presbyterian Christian Academy hurler, is 3-0 for the Waves, the New England Collegiate Baseball League team he started playing for this summer.

As of Saturday, Lovelady had three saves, a 2.64 earned-run average and 18 strikeouts, second on the team, had allowed 14 hits and had pitched 19 innings in 14 games.

The stats are posted on the team’s website.

The Waves were set to play three games this weekend. They beat Mystic 2-0 on Friday — with Lovelady pitching two innings to pick up his third save of the season — and were scheduled to host Plymouth on Saturday and play at New Bedford on Sunday.

Lovelady will report to Kennesaw State to continue his collegiate career, which started at East Georgia State College.
Lovelady will be a junior for the KSU Owls.
