Former Richmond Hill Wildcat and AAU St. James Coastal Crew Rebel Chakiris Moss earned his third rookie of the week award from the Greensboro College Pride men’s basketball team Dec. 7. The news was posted on The Pride’s athletic Web site.

According to the release, Moss averaged 12.5 points, two rebounds and one assist per game in a 2-0 week for the Pride. In a 75-59 win over Emory and Henry, Moss contributed 4 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block. Against LaGrange, he scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed one rebound, helping his team to a 85-69 victory.

The six-foot-one, 165-pound freshman played four years at Richmond Hill High School where he was named team MVP in his junior and senior seasons.

During his senior year as a Wildcat, Moss averaged 22 points per game and was named to the First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Area squads.

"We have quite a few Rebels who are out there playing at the college level, and I would like to congratulate Moss on his accomplishments for earning rookie of the week three times in a row," Rebels coach and founder Ernie Walthour said of his former player.

"He is really stepping up at the college level like we knew he could," he said.

Moss played for the Rebels for four years as a guard in the two spot, and Walthour said he established his shooting skills from the two position while playing for the Rebels at national tournaments for the past few of years.
