Former Liberty County High School football player Raekwon McMillan will be in the Bowl Championship Series final game after his current team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, pulled off the upset of the year over Alabama, 42-35, in the Sugar Bowl semi-final game Thursday night.
McMillan, a true freshman, graduated from Liberty early, leaving high school in December 2013 to enroll at Ohio State last January. A year later, McMillan is fulfilling his dream of playing for the championship title.
The championship game will pit the Buckeyes against the Oregon Ducks on Jan. 12 in Arlington, Texas, and will be televised on ESPN, starting at 8:30 p.m.
