Former LCHS players Richardson, Mitchell doing well

Former Liberty County High School basketball player Will Richardson is scoring big for Oregon.

The sophomore has played in 26 games with eight starts this season. He is averaging 10.7 points per game.

This week Richardson and teammate Payton Pritchard ran up the score in the Duck’s 80-62 win over Utah. Pritchard scored 25 points and Richardson had 18 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Ducks. He has 91 total rebounds so far this season.

Last season Richardson was the only Duck freshman to play in all 38 games, including 12 starts. He averaged 6 points per game. Richardson helped the Liberty County High School Panthers win a Class AAAA state championship in 2016.

Richardson’s LCHS teammate  Davion Mitchell is also making strides for the Baylor Bears. Mitchell sat out last season after transferring from Auburn. 

He’s played and started in 23 games for the Bears so far this season averaging 10 points and 3.6 assists per game.
