FPCA earns first-round bye

The Lady Highlanders are 11-0 in soccer this season.

Jaiden Thomas had 27 points and eight rebounds and the First Preparatory Christian Highlanders beat the Robert Toombs Christian Academy 77-55 for the GIAA Region 6-A boys basketball championship.

Brandon Betton added 17 points, and Jeremiah Moore had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Highlanders (10-9).

FPCA earned a bye in the GIAA state playoffs with the win and will meet the winner of the Oak Mountain Academy-Atlanta Jewish Academy first-round matchup. FPCA’s second-round game will be played Saturday at 12 noon at Macon’s Tattnall Square Academy.
