Highlanders just short of state title

First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys’ basketball team fell one game shy of their goal Friday in the state tournament semi-final game against Monsignor Donovan Catholic School. Playing in front of a packed house at Mercer University the Highlanders boys fought hard but lost 64-52.
Monsignor was set to play Windsor Academy yesterday for the state title.
Locally Brunswick High won the Class AAAAA state title Friday night, beating Alatoona, 49-32. The Beach High girls and the Jenkins boys were scheduled to play in the Class AAA state title games Saturday.
