First Presbyterian Christian Academy honored the Highlander athletes during the school’s annual awards ceremony Tuesday evening.Athletes from each sporting program received participation certificates. Some athletes were also honored with awards for most improved and most valuable players.Coaches also presented Highlander awards to athletes who went beyond most of the coaches’ expectations.A special trophy was presented to football player Dylan Stewart. After being named the Coastal Courier player of the week four times during the season, the coaching staff selected Stewart as the recipient of this year’s Mike Reed Chevrolet/Coastal Courier football Player of the Year.

Dual wins for Tide wrestling at area duals
Tide wrestling area champs
The Long County wrestling team celebrates its region championship at Calvary Day School.
The Long County Blue Tide wrestling team made history this past weekend when both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state championship duals meet. The girls won the Division 2 Area 1 championship on Friday, January 10 and the boys won the Region 3-AAA championship on Saturday, January 11.
