Bradwell Institute’s Tahshaun Frasier and Statesboro’s Kam Mikell were named co-players of the year by Region 1-AAAAA basketball coaches.
Frasier, a senior point guard, has signed with Columbus State University. Mikell, a senior, has signed to play football at Colorado.
Frasier is averaging 14.7 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Bradwell’s Jamal Jackson was named the region defensive player of the year. Jackson, a senior, is averaging two steals per game.
Sophomore Chris Perry and senior Chris Owens were named to the all-region first team. Perry is averaging 13 points per game to go along with five rebounds and two blocks a game. Owens is scoring 7.9 points per game.
Zay Thomas was named to the all-region second team.
Ware County’s Jarvis Wright was named the region offensive player of the year and Statesboro’s Devin Mikell was named the region’s freshman of the year.
Keith LeGree of Statesboro was named the region coach of the year.
