Bradwell’s Friends Helping Friends is hosting its first FHF cup at 6 p.m. Thursday at BI.

The event, a 3-point shooting competition and dunk contest, is between Bradwell and Liberty general education students. The best shooters and dunkers from both schools will compete.

There also will be a five-minute “dunkathon” by some of the special needs students at both schools.

The winning school will receive the FHF Cup trophy to house in their school until next year's competition.

All proceeds go to FHF, a group of general education students that connect special needs students with their general ed peers.

FHF Officer Guin Goss says, "It's just another way for us to raise a lot of money and have fun with it. We want them to have the best years of their life right now and make them know that we're their friends, too - just like everybody else."

There will also be a major announcement made concerning a continued corporate relationship with PCSI, Inc a local/national corporation that employs special needs adults.

FHF Club sponsor and Bradwell special needs teacher Charlie Moon said, "We can sell all the doughnuts and wrapping paper in the world, but the only way to raise big money is develop strong corporate relationships host large event fundraisers like this one. PSCI, Inc has jumped in on that train and donated $8,000 in the last 2 years. Coastal Electric has also donated $4,000. The more publicity this FHF group gets, the more money we can raise for the most awesome students in the world."
