Former Long County High School baseball standout Tristan Goodro had a base hit and RBI on Saturday to help Middle Georgia State College beat Loyola University, 5-0, in Cochran.
For the season through Monday, the freshman outfielder has played in 26 games with 22 starts and is batting .257 with an on-base percentage of .380. In 74 at-bats, he has 19 hits with four doubles and a triple, according to dakstats.com.
Goodro graduated from Long in 2014 after being a member of the Blue Tide for four years.
Going into Tuesday’s action, the Knights were 11-18 overall and 6-12 in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

The Long County wrestling team celebrates its region championship at Calvary Day School.
The Long County Blue Tide wrestling team made history this past weekend when both the boys and girls teams qualified for the state championship duals meet. The girls won the Division 2 Area 1 championship on Friday, January 10 and the boys won the Region 3-AAA championship on Saturday, January 11.
