Being named player of the week for the 2007-08 season of the Peach Belt Conference Women's Basketball All-Conference Team was not enough for senior Kaneetha Gordon.
The former Liberty County Panther continues to set records for the Lady Pirates of Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Gordon averaged 21.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game as the Pirates split games against PBC Co-Champions Francis Marion and Lander. She had a career-high 29 points to go with 17 rebounds in AASU's 78-65 upset of No. 23 Francis Marion on Wednesday, then added her 42nd career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds at Lander on Saturday.
Gordon currently ranks 8th in the PBC in scoring and second in rebounding. She also goes into the tournament needing just 25 points to set the all-time school mark for total points.
In Wednesday afternoon's 74-68 win over UNC Pembroke, Gordon had her 43rd career double-double (13 points, 12 rebounds). She now stands only 11 points shy of the school's career scoring record, while moving into 25th place on the NCAA Division II career rebounding list with 1,122.
She is the daughter of Ray and Mahalia Gordon of Riceboro.
