Former Liberty County Panther basketball standout, Kaneetha Gordon continues to garner honors by recently being named to the 2007-08 Daktronics Division II Women’s Basketball South Atlantic All-Region team.
The announcement was made by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America and Daktronics.
As a Lady Pirate for Armstrong Atlantic University Gordon is the all-time leading scorer and rebounder in AASU women’s basketball. She led the Lady Pirates to their fifth 20-win season and a berth in the Peach Belt Conference Championship game.
The Riceboro native averaged 14.2 points and 10.2 rebounds this season, her second straight year of averaging a double-double a game, and ranks eighth in the PBC in scoring and leads the conference in rebounding for a second straight season.
In her four-year career, Gordon collected 1,401 points and 1,158 rebounds, just the fourth player in Peach Belt history to record 1,000+ points and rebounds in a career. She ranks second all-time in league history in rebounding and, in addition to ranking first all-time in AASU history in points and rebounds, is tied for most games played (119), second in blocked shots (69), second in field goals made (525), third in free throws made (300) and fifth in rebounds per game (9.7).
She is the daughter of Ray and Mahalia Gordon of Riceboro.
