After taking back-to-back victories over David Emanuel Academy (80-55) and Citizens Christian (86-55) last Friday and Saturday, the men's varsity Highlanders are getting a few days off before they face their last regular season opponent, Thomas Jefferson, Friday night.
The varsity Highlanders are currently 18-3, 11-2 and ranked number two in the Georgia Independent School Association's rankings. As they prepare for post season action at Robert Toombs Academy the week of Feb. 11 head coach Darrell West is hoping his players repeat their performance from last year to get into the state's final four and this time come up champions.
In doing so they are likely to face top seeded Bethesda a team the Highlanders beat at home and later lost to in Savannah. They are only 20 points behind in the 2-A GISA region beneath Bethesda and currently tied with Heirway Christian Academy.
