Highlanders hit break on winning note

The First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders boys basketball team will hit the Christmas break at 9-3, after a 60-49 win over Bethesda on Saturday.

The Highlanders posted an 83-39 rout of the Royal Live Oaks Academy (S.C.) Royal Knights on Friday. FPCA, with a 27-6 run in the second quarter, held a commanding 48-17 halftime lead.

That win came after an 86-72 loss to Bluffton (S.C.), despite 39 points from Robert McCloud. Brandon Betton added 11 points. Harry Skinner had 27 points to lead the Bobcats and Ethan Foster scored 21.

FPCA returns to action January 9 at Savannah Classical Academy.
