Brandon Betton poured in 27 points and Robert McCloud added 23 as the FPCA Highlanders rolled past the Pinewood Christian Academy Patriots 84-48 Monday.
With the win, the Highlanders improved to 7-2 on the season.
Malachi Furlow added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and DeVeon Clark had 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists. McCloud collected nine rebounds.
Banks Hearn led PCA with 23 points.
A 65-64 loss to South Effingham snapped FPCA’s four-game winning streak. The Highlanders led 18-8 before the Mustangs rallied to take a 31-29 halftime lead.
Michael Hall topped the Mustangs with 20 points while Quinton Williams scored 13 and Warren Roundtree chipped in 12 points. Benja Crofts had six points and nine rebounds.
Clark posted a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 59-38 win over Bethesda. McCloud scored 10 points and recorded nine rebounds and Furlow added eight points.
Jordan Turner had 13 points for the Blazers.
FPCA used a big third quarter to pull away from Woodville-Tompkins 58-41. Furlow led the way with 18 points while Clark notched another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Betton scored 14 points and handed out six assists. McCloud finished with nine points.
FPCA hosts Bluffton (S.C.) on Thursday and takes part in the BC Classic on December 19-20.
