Liberty County’s semi-professional football team, the Hinesville Hurricanes, took a 2-2 record into this weekend’s action.

The team opened the season Jan. 31 with an 18-15 win over the Jacksonville Black Hawks at Long Bell Stadium. On Feb. 7, the ’Canes topped the Tallahassee Wolves, 20-14, in another home contest.

The Hurricanes went on the road the following weekend, losing to the Putnam County Steelers, 30-12, in Palatka, Florida.

Last Saturday, the Hurricanes lost to the River City Commandos, 66-20, at home.

The Hurricanes were set to play Saturday in Tallahassee, Florida; results were unavailable at press time.

Hinesville returns to action March 21 when it hosts Jacksonville. The Hurricanes end the season March 28 against the Commandos in Jacksonville.
