President George W. Bush wraps the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, around the neck of three-time world heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali on Nov. 9, 2005, in the White House. Ali died Friday in a Phoenix-area hospital, his spokesman confirmed to several news outlets.
