Over the weekend, the area’s most talented soccer players were brought together for an inaugural All-Star Soccer Tournament in Savannah’s Daffin Park. Among the selected All-Stars were three Liberty County High School Panther players and four Bradwell Institute Tigers.

The inaugural soccer tourney was Windsor Forest’s soccer coach Cam Turner’s dream. He told reporters of the Savannah Morning News he created the tournament to showcase area soccer talent for college coaches.

Turner found sponsors and e-mailed every soccer college coach in Georgia.

An estimated 500 spectators and 30 college coaches were on hand. Turner said the tournament will become annual.
