Just before spring break, the Lady Panthers of Liberty County High School squeezed in two region soccer games and secured a spot in the playoffs.

The girls hosted Thomson last Friday at Donell Woods Stadium, taking a 1-0 victory. Coach Jarvis McArthur said Dianna Jimenez scored the goal against the Lady Bulldogs.

McArthur said his team wasn’t as fortunate in West Laurens on Saturday. The Lady Raiders shut the Lady Panthers out, 0-3.

However, the girls did qualify for the state playoffs. They are 6-5-1 overall and 4-4 in Region 3-AAA.

The Liberty girls play at Baldwin tomorrow and the coach said a win could move them up to third place.

The game is at 2 p.m.
