Lady Panthers win Region 3-AAAA championship title

Liberty County High School’s girls’ track team won the Region 3-AAAA title during the championship meet in Waynesboro.

The Lady Panthers scored 146 points, beating host Burke County by just one point. The Panthers finished fifth.
The top performers included Aj Achne, who finished second in the 200 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles. Lillian Kuhl placed second in the 1600 meter run and third in the 3200 meter run. Tiffany Walker placed first in the 100 meter hurdles.

The 4x100 relay team of Nia Elmore, Kiara Edwards, Walker, Alyisha Anderson and Achne placed first.
Domonique Rogers placed second in the high jump. Kiara Edwards placed first in the pole vault.

Anderson and Alexus Cisco placed first and second, respectively, in the triple jump.
Dejah Smith placed second in the shot put and first in the discus throw. Javonna Johnson paced second in the discus.

Among the top finishers for the boys Joshua Ferrell placed and Devonte Roberts finished third in the 1600 meter run. Jarquel Richardson placed first in the 300-meter hurdles.

The 4x100 relay team of Jaleel Gilbert, Richardson, Jaalon Frazier, Theodis Wilcox and Tomarrio Jenkins placed third.
Caleb Smith placed second in the pole vault.
