After defeating the Charlton County Indians on Tuesday, the Lady Tide fell Friday to Brantley County, 45-25.
In the Brantley game, the Lady Tide couldn’t seem to get their offense in gear. They mustered only 7 points in the first quarter, 6 in the second, 5 in the third and 7 in the fourth.
In the Heron game, Long County’s leading scorers were and Caela LaRochester with 10 points and India Gamble with 7.
Though the Tide fell to the Lady Herons, coach Ryan Bailey praised the team effort and recognized a few players."Caela (LaRochester) played a good game and so did India (Gamble) and Jessica (Bryant). Since we got Caela back, we’re still trying to figure out where our people need to be. Before, we couldn’t play our whole system, but now we are. And we’re working on getting people in place," the coach said.
The Lady Tide is 3-17 overall and 3-10 in Region 2-AA. On Saturday, the girls faced a tough McIntosh County team. Going into the game, the Buccaneers were 12-10 overall and 9-4 in the region. Results from the game were not available at press time.
On Tuesday, the Ludowici girls are at home against the Lady Pirates of Appling County. The Pirates are the cream of the crop in Region 2-AA with an overall record of 15-4 and a 12-1 region mark. The game starts at 6 p.m.
