Lady Tide players recognized at banquet

Lady Tide softball players were recognized at the recent Long County High School Fall Sports Banquet.
Players who received multiple awards were Taylor Poole, Harley Dawson, Kaitlin Estill, Samantha Garcia, Caitlin Wingate, Hannah McGowan, Hannah Golden, Elizabeth Hewitt and Brittney Smiley.
Poole received the highest quality at bat percentage award, varsity academic award, a bar for her letter and was recognized for making the 2-AA All-Region Team with honorable mention.
Dawson won the top pitching performance award, a bar for her letter and made the All-Region 1st Team.
Estill won the best offensive performance award, a bar for her letter, and made the All-Region 2nd Team.
Garcia won the most improved player award, a bar for her letter and earned honorable mention on the All-Region Team.
Wingate won the best defensive performance award, a bar for her letter and earned honorable mention on the All-Region Team.
McGowan earned the JV best offensive performance award and also a letter of participation.
Golden won the coaches award, the JV academic award and a letter of participation.
Hewitt won the JV best defensive performance award and her first letter.
Smiley earned a bar for her letter and was recognized with honorable mention on the All-Region Team.
Also earning bars for their letters were Alyssa Anderson, Madalyne Flynn and Kaylyn McEwin. Ashley Desbiens and Emily Hester picked up their first letters. Other players taking home letters of participation were Taylor Burnside, Cassie Elliot, Makaylee Fowler, Jacquelynn Morey and Faith Morris.
Plaques of appreciation were also presented to Brian Todd for announcing the games and Lauren Anderson for managing the scoreboard during games.
