The Long County girls track team recently competed in the Georgia High School Association 2-AA State Track and Field Championship, which was held in Atlanta and presented by the Atlanta Track Club.

Lady Tide runner Ja’Nya Bryant secured the best finish in school history for the 200-meter race by taking home a fourth-place ribbon. Though no other female qualified to stand on a podium during the meet, Bryant’s placing wrapped up a solid year for the team, as several other girls showed well throughout the season.

Other members of this year’s team included Katie Estill, Anahza Kincaid, Keke Calhoun, Trinity Hall, Elexxus Wrighton, Mya Howard, Makayla Jackson, Dewaynnae Singleton, Ravae Rose, Malaka Elix, Alonna Rogers, Leah Charity, Shontesia Alexander, Tatyana Smiley, Jennifer Mejia, Niaje Williams and Kimauria Ward.
