The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers made it 21 in a row with a dominating win over Glynn Academy on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers, pushed to overtime when the Lady Red Terrors came to the BI gym earlier this month, rolled to a 56-28 victory in Brunswick. With the win, the Lady Tigers, ranked No. 5 in the state among Class AAAAA teams, improved to 5-0 in Region 1-AAAAA.

A short-handed Lady Tigers squad held off the long-range shooting of South Effingham in a 51-32 win Friday night.

Bradwell was without starting point guard Janiyah Blevins and without Kaydence Kern, while the Lady Mustangs hit seven 3-point shots, four from senior Hayden Johanson. South Effingham made more 3s than it did two-point field goals (five).

Jamia Ousley had 16 points and seven rebounds for Bradwell, while Destini McLemore added 12 points and eight boards. Mikayla Oliveira narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 15 rebounds, and Ja’Nya Bush was close to triple-double with eight points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Bradwell’s road swing concludes with a game Friday at South Effingham and a visit Saturday to Brunswick High. The Lady Tigers end the home slate of the regular season January 31 against St. Andrew’s and face Statesboro in Statesboro on February 3.
