Lady Tigers keep strong start going, reach 13-0

The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers picked up two more wins over the weekend – both over larger classification teams.

The Lady Tigers downed Colquitt County 54-38 Saturday in Brunswick High’s Hoopin’ at the High tournament, and beat North Forsyth 54-41 Monday. Colquitt and North Forsyth are Class AAAAAA programs.

Destini McLemore poured in 17 points, and Janiyah Blevins had 10 in the win over the Lady Packers on Saturday. Mikayla Oliveira scored nine points, Kaydence Kern added eight points, and Jamia Ousley finished with seven points. Ousley also had nine rebounds and five steals, and Blevins registered six assists. McLemore had five boards and five steals.

Ja’Nya Bush’s team-high 15 points helped the Lady Tigers pull away from the Lady Raiders in Monday’s win. Oliveira added nine points, Ousley and Blevins each finished with eight points and Kern scored seven.

Bush also logged six steals while McLemore pulled down nine rebounds and Oliveira had eight boards.

The Lady Tigers, ranked No. 7 among Class AAAAA teams, faced Richmond Hill on Tuesday to finish its tournament. Bradwell visits Liberty County on Saturday afternoon and opens Region 1-AAAAA play January 6 at home against Glynn Academy.
