The Bradwell Institute Lady Tigers’ late surge was enough to complete a successful last road swing.
The Lady Tigers pulled away in the fourth quarter and posted a 63-47 win over Brunswick on Saturday, going to 23-0 on the season and 7-0 in Region 1-AAAAAA.
The Lady Tigers, who won three road games in five days, closed Saturday night’s game on a 23-7 run.
Destini McLemore recorded a double-double, scoring a game-high 23 points to go with 10 rebounds. Janiyah Blevins had 12 points as all eight Lady Tigers who played scored. Ja’Nya Bush and Mikayla Oliveira had seven points each and Saniya Garner scored six.
Blevins also came up with eight steals and Bush had seven, and the each posted six assists.
Bradwell also was 12 of 16 from the free throw line.
Samyya Gilbert led Brunswick with 17 points.
The Lady Tigers trailed going into the fourth quarter but outscored the Lady Mustangs by 10 points in the final frame to claim a 48-39 win.
Oliveira had 12 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, and McLemore topped all Bradwell scorers with 15 points. Jamia Ousley finished with nine points and seven rebounds, and Bush had nine points and six rebounds.
South Effingham held a 29-28 lead at the end of three quarters.
Bradwell completes the regular season with its last home game Saturday against St. Andrew’s and a road game February 4 at Statesboro.
