The Long County Blue Tide soccer programs are about to get a lot stronger over the next few years. Both teams have been perennial playoff teams and with two championship contending teams coming up from Long County Middle School, they are sure to get better. On Saturday, March 20, the boys’ team finished as the runners up while the girls won the conference title.
The girls have worked hard this season and it paid off with them coming away with a conference championship. The team traveled over to Arthur Williams Middle School in Jesup and defeated the Pierce County Bears 3-1 to win the Southeast Georgia Middle School Athletic Conference crown.
The Lady Tide had a successful season, winning their last six games and finishing the season 10-2, including three playoff wins in the span of a week. They certainly have a lot to be proud of after such a difficult year for everyone.
The Lady Tide soccer team at the high school are currently competing for a region title of their own, so seeing their younger counterparts bringing home a trophy should certainly give them confidence for the remainder of the season.
