LCRD opens pools, summer swimming season

The Liberty County Recreation Department has opened both the Hinesville and Midway swimming pools.

Open swim
The Hinesville pool is in Liberty Independent Troop Park on Highway 84. The Midway pool is also on Highway 84, in the Liberty County Community Complex. Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. every day. Admission is $2 per person.

Family nights
Monday and Wednesday evenings are Family Nights, from 7:15 to 9 p.m. and admission is $2 per person. Open to parents and children only.

Lessons
Swimming lessons for ages 4 and up will be offered at both pools in two-week session (Monday-Thursday) as follows: June 6-16, June 20-30 and July 11-21, at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., and 6:10 p.m. Classes last 50 minutes. The cost is $25 per participant per session. A limited number of slots is available.

Pool rentals
Pools may be reserved for exclusive use by groups, except during regular hours. The fee is $50 per hour for 25 or fewer people, $75 per hour for 25-50 people, $100 per hour for 50-75 people, and $125 per hour for 75-100 people. Reservations must be made through the LCRD Office.
