The Liberty County Recreation Department cross country team had a fantastic showing at the GRPA state championship on October 5. LCRD athletes competed in three different distances based on their age groups: 2,000 meters for 8 and under, 3,000 meters for 9-12-year-olds, and 4,000 meters for 13-14-year-olds.
Several runners earned all-state performer honors by finishing in the top 20 of their respective age divisions. Here are the standout performances:
* Zavier Chance competed in the 10u Division (3000 meters) and finished 12th with a time of 13:17.
* Boaz Guerard raced in the 12u Division (3000 meters) and placed seventh, completing the course in 12:23.
* Ajani Richardson ran in the 14u Division (4000 meters), finishing seventh with a time of 17:30.
* Khloe Godwin also competed in the 14u Division (4000 meters) and secured seventh place with a time of 19:31.
