Jalen Barnard topped Liberty County’s runners with a time of 19:33.65 at the Region 3-AAA cross country meet, hosted by Long County.
Barnard’s time placed him 11th overall.
Steven Rivas finished 18th at 20:43.34. Freshman Aaron Garcia finished 28th at 21:44.58, one spot in front of teammate Ty’reek Watts, who crossed the finish line in 21:46.54.
Richard Perez was 32nd with a time of 22:24.36.
The Liberty County boys finished fourth overall, with 118 points.
Crystal Taylor was the top Liberty County girls finisher, taking 32nd at 29:30.54. Teammates Valeria Sanbria and freshman Rebekah Campbell were 34th and 35th, respectively, with times of 29:48.07 and 30:23.64.
Freshman Ka’Leigh Davis was 42nd at 38:36.19, Zaniyah Latson was 43rd at 40:30.27 and freshman Jaliyah Edwards was right on her heels at 40:30.61.
Calvary Day was third in the boys team standings, and Savannah Country Day was fifth.
Calvary was third in the girls, followed by Savannah Christian and Savannah Country Day.
The state cross country meet, for boys and girls in all seven classes, will be held Saturday in Carrollton.
