After having to rearrange of few games thanks to COVID -19 the Liberty County High School Panthers earned their first win of their baseball season against Towns County this past Saturday. The team edged out an 8-7 win. The win came after a loss to Bryan County also played this past Saturday where the Redskins won 10-0. On Feb. 25 the Panthers lost a home game against Portal falling 15-2. They lost against Bryan County on Feb. 23, 6-0 at home. The Panthers are 1-4 overall. They started the season with a 12-11 loss against the Bradwell Tigers.
The Panthers were set for a rematch at Savannah Country Day yesterday. They host Bradwell on Friday for a double header with games set for 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
On the soccer field the Panther boys dropped their first game falling 7-2 against Savannah Arts Academy. The boys’ soccer team will play Groves High School tomorrow on their home field at 5:30 p.m. They are 0-1 overall. The Lady Panthers’ soccer team is also 0-1 after being shut out 10-0 by Savannah Arts Academy. On Friday they host Southeast Bulloch at 5 p.m.
