The recreation football district tournaments are just around the corner. This year, the Long County All-Star teams will face some tough competition when they travel to the South Bryan Recreation Department for the 2011 Georgia Recreation Park Association District 2 Class C football tournament.
The 8-and-under team will play at 6 p.m. Nov. 29, taking on the winner of the Bacon County/Brantley County game. The 10-and-under team will play at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28, taking on tough Charlton County. The 12-and-under team will play its first game at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29. They too will face the Charlton County squad.     
If the Long County teams get past their opponents, they will advance to the next round of the tournament Nov. 30. For more information on the district tournament, call Long County Recreation Department Director Michelle Crowley at 545-
