The 13U Barracuda baseball team took first in the Highway 49 Slug Fest on July 16-17 in Macon.
The Barracudas played their first game against the Legends and came out on top, 8-4. In game two, the Barracudas fell, 7-1, to the Titans.
On Sunday, the Barracudas entered the single-elimination bracket and once again faced the Titans. This time, however, the Barracudas played a solid game and beat their opponent, 9-1.
The Barracudas faced the top-seeded Rebels from Tampa in the championship. The Rebels had run-ruled every opponent to make the finals,  but the Barracudas put a stop to the Florida team’s winning streak by beating the Rebels, 14-5. The boys were awarded USSSA Championship rings.
