According to the University of Miami athletic website, former Liberty County High School basketball player Rion Brown returns to his home state when the Hurricanes play at Savannah State at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Miami is 5-5 on the season, while Savannah State is 2-9. The game will be televised on CSS, Comcast standard cable channel 26.
Miami has won all three matchups against Savannah State, defeating the Tigers, 107-98, in 1989; in 2002, they defeated Savannah State, 91-57, and most recently downed the Tigers, 105-65, in 2004, all in Coral Gables.
Brown, a 6-foot-6 senior guard, leads the Hurricanes with averages of  13.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
