Former Liberty County basketball player Jordan McRae is busy preparing for the 2014 NBA Draft.
The former Panther and shooting guard for the University of Tennessee graduated, and has received invitations to several team workouts. He accepted, hoping to impress the decision makers.
On May 15 McRae posted, “No twitter or Facebook until the draft. I only have one chance at this dream, and I will make the best of it. Be safe and be blessed….talk to you all then.” He had just graduated from UT and was headed to Chicago for the NBA Draft Combine.
After the combine, news reports suggest McRae has tried out and, in some cases, worked out with various NBA teams.
ESPN reporter Jeff Goodman tweeted that McRae was one of four guards invited to a Chicago Bulls May 28 workout. Wednesday, the Milwaukee Sentinel reported that McRae was among the guards who worked out with the Bucks.
Thursday, McRae was reportedly working out with the Toronto Raptors based on articles posted on the National Post and raptorshq.com.
Zach Links of hoopsrumors.com reported that McRae told Links he had worked out with the Bulls, Heat, Pistons and 76ers as well. He reportedly told hoopsrumors.com, he had workouts with other clubs still ahead.
ESPN will televise the NBA Draft on June 26.
