Flott meets with Blue Tide parents

New Long County High School football coach Ronald Flott met with his team’s parents Tuesday to provide information about the upcoming year. 
At the top of the list was news that the Blue Tide summer football camp will begin Monday, and helmets and pads will be issued. 
The camp will run from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. through Thursday,  Flott said.
In addition, Flott said regular practices will run from 3:15-6 p.m., and told parents that players who miss a practice will have to sit out for one quarter during the upcoming game.
He also stressed the importance of the players staying hydrated, eating right and getting plenty of rest.
Long County Athletic Director Karen Swindell was also at the meeting and talked about fundraisers that the team would be doing throughout the year.
She also told parents it was important that each player know and follow policies in the athlete’s handbook.
At 6 p.m. Aug. 11, the Blue Tide will play in the annual Soap Game, which is an inter-squad scrimmage.  At 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18, the team scrimmages against Bacon County at Veterans Stadium in Ludowici.
The Tide open the regular season Aug. 26 in Pembroke against Bryan County High School.
