For the third consecutive year, the Hinesville Fire Department will host a golf tournament to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The tournament will begin with a noon registration and 1 p.m. shotgun start Saturday, Sept. 24, at Cherokee Rose Golf Course off Highway 84 in Hinesville.
The fee is $50 per golfer or $200 per four-man team.
The tournament has a four-man scramble, best-ball format. Lunch will be included and an awards dinner will follow play.
Golfers also may purchase raffle tickets for chances at door prizes.

Tournament sponsors Hinesville Ford and Liberty Chrysler each have donated a vehicle for the players who win a hole-in-one, so players have two chances to win a vehicle. Other local sponsors include Coastal Pawn of Hinesville, Shane’s Rib Shack, Wrap-It Signs and South Georgia Bank.
HFD engineers Roland Evans and Mike Scoggins are organizing the event. Senior HFD firefighter Hunter Gosseck is serving as the media liaison.
