First Presbyterian Christian Academy dropped a 12-1 loss to David Emanuel Academy Tuesday in Stillmore. On Thursday, the FPCA boys welcomed DEA to their home turf and avenged the earlier loss with a 7-1 win at St. James Field.
Highlander Christian Ruff pitched the first three innings, giving up one run. James Moon came in for three innings and didn’t allow any hits. Dalton Smiley closed the final inning.
Darius Tilghman and DJ Jefferson provided the Highlanders with several hits to score in the runs. Moon had a two-run double and stole home in a daring move when he caught the opposing catcher off guard.
“We played good defense and got some quality pitching from our guys along with a few timely hits,” FPCA baseball coach Ryan Harmon said. “We’ve won two out of our three games this week and hope to keep it going, especially on Tuesday when we host our region rival Frederica Academy.”
The first pitch on Tuesday is at 4:30 p.m. on St. James Field.
