Track expecting a sizeable crowd at tonights event

The race track in Chatham County will be rocking tonight.
The Pooler Pawn and Diamond Company 440 Special, the Southern Eagle Budweiser Late Models, Love’s Seafood Street Stocks, Two Nuts and a Bolt Garage Pure Stocks and the Savannah Go Minis Mini Stocks are the races featured tonight at the Oglethorpe Speedway in Pooler.
According to OSP spokesperson Randall Jenkins, Robbie Cowart leads in points in the Southern Eagle Budweiser Late model division by 399 points with rookie Tyler Perry closing in and last years’ champion, Bobby Morris, in third.
Jamie Hopkins leads in points in the Love’s Seafood Street Stocks by only 30 points over 2010 champion Brian Barnes, with Timmy Dasher in third place, only 38 points behind the leader.
Don Douglas leads the points in the Two Nuts and a Bolt Garage Pure Stock division by a comfortable margin of 242 points.
Jason Whatley leads the points in the Savannah Go Minis Mini Stock division by 142 points over Michael Screen.
Josh Carter, the 2010 champ, is in third place, 340 points behind the leader.
Matt Wise is leading in the Pooler Pawn and Diamond Company 440 division by 67 points over second place Les Brinson.
Chris Graham in third place is only 118 points behind the leader.
Next week will feature the Mini Sprints visiting OSP again, and Aug. 19 will be the final points race for the 2011 season. Oglethorpe Speedway is located at 200 Jesup Road in Pooler.
