Newly signed Indianapolis Colt and Bradwell Institute alum Ulrick John visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last Friday with the 2014 Colts’ rookie class, according to a release posted on colts.com.
The Georgia State University graduate and seventh-round draft pick got the opportunity to ride in a pace car on the 2.5-mile speed track.
“That was probably the single best experience I’ve ever had in my life,” Jon was quoted saying on the report. “I had never been to a race track in my life. I’ve seen one, but I had never been to one. It’s a really great experience and I am really honored to be here and I am happy to be a part of all this.”
The 2014 Colts rookie class also attended the first playoff game between the Pacers and the Miami Heat earlier in the week.
According to the report, the visits are part of several planned excursions the first-year players will make around Indianapolis during the next few months. The activities are designed to introduce the players to the cultural and community events in Indianapolis.
