Lady Tigers honored for season

The Bradwell softball team and families gathered Oct. 27 on Fort Stewart to commemorate the Lady Tigers’ season.
Seniors Heather Rego, Chelsi Shutts, Jessica Puckett and Kasey Smith were honored. Players also were awarded plaques and letters for their season accomplishments. Letters were awarded to Rego, Leana Carrette, Shania Eldridge, Jakaria Fleming, Melissa Gregory and Tamia Johnson. Smith, Shutts, Puckett and Mackenzie Stewart were awarded bars. Smith earned four other honors: Most Valuable Player, the Silver Slugger Award, Coach’s Award and the Lady Tiger Award. She was nominated for the Georgia Dugout Team and holds one of the highest batting averages in the state. Shutts earned the Golden Glove Award and Award of Academic Achievement. Eldridge earned with the Most Improved Award.
Junior-varsity players also were presented with awards. Johnson was recognized as Most Valuable Player, while classmate Madison Winn earned the Silver Slugger Award. Eighth-grader Kamesha Jackson earned the Most Improved Award. Miranda Wells was presented with the Junior Varsity Coach’s Award.
Stewart was awarded a Bradwell Lady Tigers jacket for raising the most money during the team’s fundraiser.
Kathy Smith, Kasey’s mother, received a framed certificate of appreciation and a crystal infinity award, thanking her for her years of service and dedication to the Lady Tigers softball team.  
The players and their families were treated to a video of the girls, their families and the season’s highlights.
The Lady Tigers finished the season 5-15 overall and 3-6 in Region 3-AAAAA.
